Kids At Messingham Show

We appreciate that a family day out can be expensive and so we have included the following family entertainment in the entry price – four face painters for children of all ages, our ever-popular regular children’s entertainer Adrian Lee of Feet First Entertainment, live music, watching the horse classes from our free to enter grandstand and the Sheep Show and Vander Wheel of Death in Arena 3.

There is of course the Dowse family fun fair and family biased trade stands to enjoy.

There is a rich history of education in Messingham village with the first school being built in the early 1900’s. The current Primary School was built only 10 years ago to join together the separate Infant and Junior Schools. We have a fantastic modern building. We are a split form entry school and can accept up to 42 children in each year. We pride ourselves on being a friendly and caring school with a strong commitment to pupil achievement, serving the surrounding community, where we endeavour to enable our children to become creative confident learners. Our school accommodates pupils, aged 5 to 11 years, and our main focus as a primary school is to prepare our children for the next steps in their learning journey.

This year, at the show, we are getting involved with the Messingham community and also celebrating the Queen’s impressive Platinum Jubilee. The children are amazed to think of the Queen being on the throne for 70 years. At school, we have been researching and learning all about her Majesty and creating some brilliant pieces of art and writing. The work is to be displayed in our own gallery in the Event tent at the show on Sunday 5th June. We are also being sponsored by the Cookie People, who have also confirmed that there will be cookies available! Come along and see the wonderful work of Messingham Primary School.

A the show will be Alpacas & Friends petting area which will contain Alpacas, Lambs, Bunny rabbits and  Miniature Pygmy Goats. Hand washing and sanitising is provided.
